We booked Curious Robin Films to capture our wedding day after watching just one of their wedding’s highlight reels. In fact, it was before we had even set our wedding date, we loved the film so much! An excellent service was provided by all from start to finish, so easy to work with pre and post wedding (and a joy to be with on the big day itself!). We met Rob in the build up to the wedding to enable him to get a feel for what we were looking for and he captured it perfectly, with the final product being delivered in a wonderfully unique wooden box.

Professional (but personable) throughout the whole process, you can tell Rob takes great pride in what he does, keeping in regular contact during the editing process post wedding to ensure we were happy, with even minor edits catered for. Thoroughly recommend using Curious Robin Films to anyone who is considering using a videographer for their wedding, you will not be disappointed. We couldn’t sing Rob’s praises more.

How to write a Groom’s speech

You’re freshly married to the love of your life, emotions have been running high after years of anticipation … and now you have to give the groom’s speech. I think people underestimate the significance of the groom’s speech. The Father is seen as sentimental and the Best Man is seen as the entertainment and somehow, […]

Why you should hire a wedding videographer .. even if it isn’t us

You should hire a wedding videographer. There. Point made. Blog over. What’s that? You feel I ought to justify myself a bit more? Oh go on then. So the question I ought to answer is; why should you hire a wedding videographer? The secondary question is; why should you hire Curious Robin Films? And I’m going to […]

Wedding videography is the place to be if you want to learn quickly. The pressure of needing to catch the moments, exposed and composed well, is intense. It is run’n’gun at its purest. So the systems need to be compact and versatile. The capability of cameras systems has shot up in recent years. Panasonic are […]

Lisa & Ally’s Vintage Wedding Film – Super8 adventures of an amateur

We’re wandering down memory lane to bring you this vintage wedding film. Often when people use the word vintage, they mean it’s got a retro film filter on the digital film, with a few light leaks thrown in for good luck. You’ll hear no criticism from us of that. A film stock LUT and a […]

Scottish Wedding Videography – the new kid on the block

Posted by on Jul 26, 2016 in Weddings | No Comments

Some three years ago, when we were looking for a videographer for our own wedding, there were so few options for high quality, cinematic, emotive and contemporary examples of Scottish wedding videography. We were fortunate that one of the small handful of really good suppliers was available on our date. They have since ceased filming […]

Our first foray into charity video production In a moment of reflection recently, I was thinking about how I ended up creating a company which would, among other things, help great social organisations, charities and NGOs tell their stories. Actually, it makes perfect sense in a way. Back in 2005 I moved to Uganda to […]

Cyprus | Destination Wedding Films

Last week we had the honour of flying out to Cyprus to film the destination wedding of Linzi and Ben at the Olympic Lagoon Resort near Paphos. It’s a different kettle of fish in many ways to filming a UK wedding, not least in terms of trying to get all the kit to the destination […]

How to write a Best Man’s speech

When filming a wedding, the speeches can be a point when the narrative for the final edits are told. Key quotes, lifted from speeches can really take a film to the next level. But too often people hate public speaking and panic about writing speeches. In reality, the speech can be one of the most […]
