Lisa & Ally

Initially I wasn’t going to have a videographer at our wedding….I thought we could do without and I am genuinely so grateful that I changed my mind as I was completely wrong!! I was concerned that a camera poking at my face all day would stress me (I am not great at getting my photo taken and being on camera). However, Rob at Curious Robin films made the experience so calm and unobtrusive, I hardly realised I was being filmed which made the experience all so easy and comfortable.

Our wedding video still has me in tears almost 4 years later, every single time I watch it. After all the planning and organising we went through to get it right, Rob really captured the essence of our day in a way that no photograph could. With the perfect choice of music and even the details like using the old vintage camera. Every time I watch it I feel like I’m transported back to that day and experiencing it all over again and for that exact reason, I just can’t recommend Curious Robin Films highly enough.

How long will my wedding film be?

Typically the highlight film is around 3-6 minutes and the longer edit is typically around half an hour. Additionally there is an option to watch the full Ceremony and Speeches in their entirety as a separate option on the DVD

What is the booking process?

After you decide to use our services, a deposit is due upon booking, and the remaining balance is due 14 days prior to the date of your wedding.

Do we need to sign a contract?

Yes. We both sign the contract so we can ensure both parties are happy.

Where are you based?

Curious Robin Films is based in Edinburgh but will travel anywhere for the prospect of a wonderful wedding.

How long will it take to get the film back to us?

We aim to get your film back to you within 16 – 20 weeks of the wedding.

How will we watch our film?

The highlight film will be hosted in high definition online. We can deliver your film on various platforms; DVD, BLU-Ray or USB memory stick.

Will you be giving us direction on the day?

No, our aim is to be almost invisible. If we can get a few minutes to shoot some more relaxed shots away from the bustle of the day, then that’s great, but we’re best at capturing precious moments without being seen.

Do you shoot in HD?

Yes, we shoot in full HD on multiple cameras. Our priority is in capturing the story properly; precious moments properly exposed, balanced and composed.

Are there any extra costs, on top of the package price?

Sometimes, but these would be outlined in a quote at the time of booking. Typically these would be;

  • Travel: Everything within a 50 mile radius of Edinburgh is inclusive, everything beyond that is in addition to the fee. This is usually calculated at 45p per mile.
  • Accommodation: If it is very remote, we will include two nights accommodation in the quote, but trust us when we say that we are very low maintenance – no expensive tastes here.
  • Excess baggage: If a flight is involved (and we’ll book budget travel where practical) we’ll potentially have to purchase excess baggage for the equipment.
  • Extra daily rates: If we’re travelling for days either side of a wedding, we may charge a daily rate for that as it is a working day.

Are you available for our overseas / destination wedding?

Most certainly. We are experienced in filming destination weddings across Europe. We have also lived and travelled extensively overseas so the logistics of filming anywhere in the world is well within our comfort zone. In addition to the standard package, the cost would include travel, accommodation, insurance and extra luggage allowance if necessary. We are mindful of your budgets and aim to use budget options where possible.

What is the investment required to commission a wedding film?

In 2018, the package price is £1750.

In 2019, the package price is £2000.

2020 isn’t determined yet but if booked now, will be offered at 2019 prices.
